Guide to materials and forms

New River Polymers collects, processes, and recycles:

PURGE

Often generated at the beginning or end of a run, the end of a day, or at a color changeover. They have many humorous names, including plops, blobs, and cow patties.

REGRIND

Materials often milled or ground from obsolete or out-of-specification parts, sprues, runners or purge.

REPROCESSED OR REPRO

Material generated from non-prime feedstock such as regrind, producer scrap, and obsolete virgin pellets.

OBSOLETE PRIME

On-specification pellets within the prime pellets category. This material may be made obsolete due to the age of the pellets in the lot, discontinued plastic material or obsolete colors.

AGED PRIME

Material that was once prime, and due to age, now available at attractive prices.

What we can provide:

DENSIFICATION

Post-industrial nonwoven scrap is densified into the customer’s desired spec to be used in injection molding or making of repro.

REGRIND

BROKERAGE

Excess scrap in bale, part, regrind, etc., is sold to customers for densification, repro, or injection molding.
